Double-pass reverse osmosis system

System Description :
A reverse osmosis double passage system is when the permeate water is fed into a second unit to produce purer water. This two- or two-stage unit is when the concentrate or reject stream is introduced into a second system to recover water, respectively. Reverse osmosis systems are designed to purify water by releasing about 99% of the total dissolved solids from the feedwater. Single-pass systems produce produced water (permeate) and discharge water (concentrate) at the same time.

How it works :
Reverse osmosis reverse osmosis systems consist of two reverse osmosis systems (1st pass and 2nd pass) in which the first pass has a larger volumetric flow capacity than the second pass. Between them there should be a breaking reservoir where the permeate or concentrate water of the first pass RO is stored and introduced into the second pass RO for further filtration. Pretreatment must be ensured for 1st pass and 2nd RO systems in case of water recovery, since the quality of the water concentrated on the first pass must be at the limit of the saturation point. On the other hand, an application may only require a pre-treatment at the first pass if it is used as a permeate to feed the second pass.
